Patrick and Tristram Fetherstonhaugh are brothers who live and work in London.

Born: 1967 and 1965 London, England

Patrick and Tristram Fetherstonhaugh were raised in an artistic household – their mother was in book publishing, their father a designer – and they were exposed to modern and contemporary art from an early age, spending time in the studios of artists, photographers and designers. Educated between them at St Paul’s School in London, Oxford University and the Royal College of Art, they were raised with a combination of the academic and the artistic – a combination that would go on to inform much of their work practice.

Having produced art separately throughout their lives, their move into photography marked the beginning of their collaborative output – they use photography as a neutral space that sits between them, allowing them both to conceive, plan, create and edit – photography is an ideal medium for two to work as one.
